​Purpose

In order to enable secondary school students in Macao to look at the world, understand international affairs, and think about various issues facing the global society from different angles and ways, and at the same time promote the United Nations' "Sustainable Development Goals", with the idea of "injecting world thought into this place" goal.

 

A group of young people who love the world established Macao's first non-profit private academic group in November 2020 with the purpose of promoting Model United Nations culture.

Although it was established not long ago, we have organized a variety of workshops and training courses so that every Macau secondary school student can learn about the "Model United Nations". We also cooperate with local institutions to organize current affairs salons and roundtable meetings, allowing students to communicate with participants from other regions and understand world current affairs from different perspectives.

 

Since 2022, the Macau Model United Nations has been organizing various types of activities, including the "Third Annual Series of Activities to Promote the Model United Nations Culture in Macau" (including the "Macau Model United Nations General Assembly" and the "Macau Model United Nations Campus Tour"), and the "Secondary School Student Officer Training Program", which brought together students from more than 70 secondary schools in the two sides of the Taiwan Strait to discuss issues such as sustainable development, human rights and culture. The above series of activities brought together more than 30 secondary schools from the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, with a total of 2,500 participants, and was supported by the Education and Youth Development Bureau and many units and experts.
