The Royal Family is regarded as the soft power of British diplomacy. Public diplomacy can be divided into five different categories: listening, advocacy, cultural exchange and diplomacy, exchange and education diplomacy, and informational broadcasting. The Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office invites the Queen and her family to travel on official business as heads of state. The royals must utilize more precise and covert strategies because they are expected to be apolitical.
